Initial Narrative     V1 WAS TRAVELING NORTHBOUND ON U.S. HWY 71B/ S. THOMPSON. P1 WAS WEARING DARK CLOTHING AND WAS CROSSING MID-BLOCK NOT IN A CROSSWALK FROM EAST TO WEST CROSSING HWY 71B. P1 STEPPED INTO THE OUTSIDE NORTHBOUND TRAVEL LANE AND WAS STRUCK BY V-1. THE PEDESTRIAN WAS TRANSPORTED TO A LOCAL HOSPITAL BUT SUCCUMBED TO INJURIES SUSTAINED IN THE CRASH THE FOLLOWING MORNING.
